Correspondence from Bertha Busch to Gerald Yorke
Karlsruherstrasse 2. Berlin-Halensee.
Jan 25 1932.
My dear boy—
Hamilton [Gerald Hamilton] has left tonight for London. He will book your way. I believe he knows all the ropes in money matters—and is capable to pull things off.
Should you agree—do only send direct by mail for me and A.C.—We do think he is alright but we do not know him well enough to trust him yet.
Please remember—that you cannot look into everybody's hearts.
Love yours,
Bill
P.S. Doubtful if this is clear. He seems the sort of man that might pull off a deal for a million and go reasonably straight, but at the same time capable of pawning his best pal's only overcoat during a cold snap.
