Dear Gerald.
Thanks for your letter—I had to day again a business appointment with the lady—she is agreeable to let me in as a partner but she would rather close her house down then employ [illegible] there is really no risk—I shall run the place [illegible] with a [illegible]—[illegible]—Remember the lady is society woman—no one set of people is sure—it is up to me to make people meet—and make a profit.
I don't mind what I do—it can be even a manage office—I don't think a proposition like this comes every day, and there no fear, that A.C. will but in—only if people are interested in him and his work—I want to be sure that my [illegible] good—I would put this proposition up to any body—with business sense, it is the chance of my life.
I still got hope my strong evening in September the [illegible] season is beginning—then too—so we can [illegible] it although it is not a gamble—it is business—
Love Bill [Bertha Busch]
I shall be somebody again.
