Dear Mr Sadleir,

I tried my utmost to get the "Express" people interested in the matter I discussed with you last week, but without success. I managed to penetrate as far as the acting Editor of the "Sunday Express", to discuss the matter with him, but all I learned was a lesson in mentality. When I referred to the articles by Mr. James Douglas (now Managing Editor) he informed me that the policy of the paper has changed since then; they could not, now, touch the case at all—too unsavoury. Yet while I was waiting to see him, I perused a copy of last Synday's Express, quoting in full, the trial of the late Oscar Wilde!

Before taking any further steps in the matter I would like to see you, at any time, to discuss one or two points which have occurred to me.

Yours faithfully,

Elliot S. Darby
