Dear Mr. Darby,

I must first of all apologise for not having acknowledged your last letter to me, but I really have been very busy.

I am afraid that no good purpose would be served by your coming to see me as it is now quite clear that it would be very unwise, in the circumstances, for us to make any move in this matter. The whole case is in the hands of our legal advisers, and our solicitors (Messrs. Waterhouse & Co., 10-12 Bishopsgate, E.C.) would welcome any information or assistance you feel able to give them.

Would you, therefore, if you have anything to communicate on the whole subject, kindly get into touch with Mr. C.S. Harper, c/o Waterhouse. You will, I am sure, realise that we have to be very careful what we do with the case at its present stage.

Yours truly,
