"LAUGHING TORSO"
Dear Sadleir,
I have received your letter of the 15th with the enclosed as regards Miss Violet Hunt which I will put away with the rest.
Also the cutting from the "News of the World". I got my clerk Mr. Jones to have a word with Mr. Lilley about this and he advised doing nothing. It is not contempt of Court, it would be an action by Constables against the "News of the World" for damages and Constables could not prove, I think, that they have sustained any.
Lilley's strong view is that it is best left alone.
I return the cutting and also send you a bundle of cuttings which have been discovered in Lilley's chambers, I think left behind by you when you were last there. Please acknowledge receipt.
Yours sincerely,
Charles S.J. Harper
