CROWLEY

My dear Kyllmann,

I shall have to deliver the briefs to counsel next week and pay our own and also through O'Connors, the solicitors for Nina Hamnett, Mr. Martin O'Connor's brief fee as already arranged.

I do not expect to be able to get Hilbery's clerk to accept a lower fee on his brief than 75 guineas. Then his junior Lilley is entitled to two-thirds of that or 50 guineas and Martin O'Connor will want the same as Lilley and there will be in addition a nominal fee to Hilbery as leader to Martin O'Connor. Fees are payable also to the clerks of the counsel, a small percentage but amounting to several pounds and finally there are consultation fees.

So I ought to have from you a cheque for £200.

Yours sincerely,

Charles S. J. Harper
