CROWLEY
My dear Kyllmann,
This case is in what is called the week's list, that is to say a list made out at the end of every week for the ensuing week specifying what cases may be taken on. We are in the list but 18 down. There are none taken to-day, there are four more days in this week during which they can be taken and we are not very likely to be reached. I will give you the longest notice possible.
It is a special jury at Crowley's request so he has to pay for it. Each juror is paid £1.1.0.
I have just received from O'Connor the statement of the evidence Miss Hamnett is prepared to give—her proof, as it is called. I send it herewith and would like it back when you and the others have read it. I think there are some things in this which may interest you. Did you know that she has written another book, are you publishing it and has it any libels?
Yours sincerely,
Charles S. J. Harper
