Correspondence from Wilfred Talbot Smith to Aleister Crowley
6 Sept 34
. . . The Mass [Gnostic Mass] keeps on steadily and uninterruptedly. "Invoke often". Attendance increases. . . . There are several steady "hangers-on" but no real use to us yet. I want 5 or 6 more people to join us, and then move to a bigger place. I am trying to enthuse a rather good sample of the feline species who has much in common with Regina [Regina Kahl], but I have not got her by the short hairs yet. Also a young fellow I like well has possibilities. For the rest that flock around I can't say much. Everyone is so frightfully dumb I get fiercely fed up at times.
Enclosed find draft for 5 pounds, the best I can do just now. . . .
