I am so sorry I have been away since we met—and I fear I must have appeared to be very rude.

We have let our flat and I have no abiding city for the moment but it would give me great pleasure if you will lunch with me at the Queens Restaurant Sloan Square on Friday, August 13th, at 1:30 p.m. Will you reply—
