Thanks for passing the £15 for my holiday. I ought to tell you, though, that this is the exact minimum required: I won't be able to have a drink the whole time, or even go ashore for a small look-see. If you could spring a tenner it would make everything comfortable—including the purchase of some warm things—woolen sweater, scarf etc—and v[ery] necessary for first and last weeks.

I'll see that you get value for commenting on AL and Yi.

Dennes and Co are sending a destroyer to watch me, with 333 neutral observers. So I had better explain now that something might happen in Belgium—where I join up on Saturday—to throw the whole plan down, but this would be a good thing as far as the money end of it is concerned, so that in no case would you lose any sleep about me starving on the Embankment.

Anyhow, I need the voyage, so we'll hope the good thing keeps cosy till the end of October and then turns up tenfold.

I expect to leave London Friday 10.20 a.m. so—if as I hope, you can help out—let me hear Thursday A.M. at the latest.
