Correspondence from Frieda Harris to Aleister Crowley
[partial]
[circa late 1938]
. . . one glorious [Tarot] card I've sketched as I don't know which wand it is, but it is naïvely comic. I found a passable fool but not good. I think the Baphomet must be on the lines of Eliaphas Lévi's [Eliphas Levi] design (so good) but I feel bats wings—they are lovely to draw . . . the nos [sic] on the suits in some of the French cards were so gay and naïve. I like that quality, but can I do that with your comprehensive knowledge & my Victorian & later stodginess.
