Correspondence from Frieda Harris to Aleister Crowley
[Undated: circa June 1942]
. . . I told you Percy [Percy Harris] has decided he would prefer to pay my bills and not give me an allowance. Therefore I can just manage to give you at present £2 a week but no more—I have not got it and cannot raise any more—I can't pay your bills my dear friend, I have paid a great deal during the last few years which has used up all my savings. Now I must live quietly if I am to pay my own creditors. Percy is hard hit by the War and I am unable to ask him. . . . I am not well and can't stand any strain, without being unable to use my right arm. . . .
