Best of Men!

Above behold the Mystery Unveiled [refers to the Mark of the Beast on the notecard].

What you say of Wedgewood is too tragically true: whenever I have found a cup worth drinking from in this sad country there has been an admixture of alien clay. I am very keen on Peter Brook: am trying to get him to do the Tempest rather than Coriolanus, as Prospero is Shakespeare’s magical refutation of Dr. Faustus. I am serious about this: think he came out of retirement ad hoc. If P.B. will, I might go to Oxford for a week or so to coach him. Will let you know any move.

F[raternal]ly Aleister.
