Dear Louis

Do What Thou Wilt is the Whole of the Law.

It was delightful to get your p.c. [post card] this morning, and yet—really you do manage to tuck yourself away so neatly that you seem half legendary. I have had a very restful week, not before it was needful. The last 6 weeks in London nearly killed me. I must tell you the Strange Case of Mr. Wilfred Smith, my own time Cyrus Spragg [The Strange Case of Miss Annie Spragg]. (You’ve read Louis Bromfield of course?) Here is spiritual Swan’s Milk in abundance: physically too, the fellows of your old college would find their need amply supplied. London should be in gala dress on Friday 25th, and Jermyn Street beflagged. If you are up and ring me after 3 o’clock, it will be happy for me.

Love is the Law, Love under Will.

Thine Aleister
