At times she [Phyllis Seckler] looks like an angel straight from heaven, but there is a hard cold side like marble, and calculating. Always knew better than anyone else: stubborn and unyielding. She is my probationer, has been for 1 1/2 years. I think the suffering she has gone through with [sic] has been necessary to soften up some of these hard spots.
