Sorry you couldn’t wangle yesterday. The Christ-Child [Vyvyan Deacon], the Sinner saved by Grease, the Stick o’ Liquorice, Ferdinand the Bull, the Black Widow Spider, the McClergyman, Mrs. Mother Murrumbidgee, the Tub of Molasses, Professor Proboscis and others united to lament the absence of Big Chief Wandering Wapiti.
Ah! United. Yes: Sometimes I sat and thunk, and sometimes I just sat.
But no nearer to your motto.

Hymenaeus, the Graeco-Roman God of Marriage; and Alpha (Aleph) with all its meanings—see Essay on Atu 0 in the Tarot [The Book of Thoth]. And the whole show adds up to 777. Good Enough?
About that loan. The bulk of the Tarot book has now been printed off: this releases metal and labour sufficient to take on the smaller book mentioned in that proposal—OLLA. We have enough paper, too. Now, that means that we ought to chinch the deal by dashing the Chiswick Press a matter of £50 ($200 near enough) this next week if humanly possible. For if we slipped up on our priority, it might be months before we got another chance, so great is the excess of demand over supply. Therefore, if you can do anything, do it: if you think that you could arrange for it by cable, telegraph me that you are so doing, that I may have something to show the printer to induce him to give us a week or so extra ‘grace.’
