Meeting Minutes
May 6 1944.
AGAPE Lodge convened at 8.30 p.m. SALADIN: Bro. Parsons [Jack Parsons] GUARD: Bro. Canright [Richard Canright].
Present: Brothers Hardin [Henry Hardin], Burlingame [Ray Burlingame]. Sisters Northrup [Sara Northrup], Canright [Barbara Canright], Wolfe [Jane Wolfe].
Do what thou wilt, etc, and Liber Oz.
Saladin announced a delay in the printing of Liber Oz; that The Oriflamme was going forward albeit slowly.
Saladin then spoke at length of the immemorial custom of celebrating the Rites of Spring the first of May through ages past; the custom started here but was ended by the Puritans. But as the mind of man degenerated, the Rites fell into disrepute, etc.
The redemption of sex is one of the objects of the O.T.O. Woman a priestess, man a priest. Every member of the O.T.O. is a knight of the Grail, come to redeem mankind.
Saladin then reported a letter received from Brother McMurtry [Grady McMurtry], re the present status of Baphomet; and reported that "a brother" had borrowed $300 and cabled that; whereupon Brother Burlingame said he intended to send $100.
Brother Burlingame reported 4 prospective members, and stated 35 copies of Liber AL had been distributed among people and placed in book stores.
Saladin said there was the likelihood of sale of 1003 S. Orange Grove; and reminded the members they were asked to memorize a chapter from Liber LXV for June.
Sister Canright announced that the Turbecks (prospective members) were no longer interested.
Lodge then closed with the reciting of the Gnostic Creed.
