93. Germer [Karl Germer] wrote Aug 12: doesn’t say he had your cable, and his cheque is even less than usual: looks as if both your July and Aug. cables have strayed! Hell!

     

Well, the news is as good as I thought: I wonder where you are! Well, I hope,

     

“Unwounded from the dreadful close,

But breathless all, McMurtry rose”

 

as Scott so nearly wrote!

     

Things here still moving quite as they should. Nothing special since the last. Do write!
