Dear Louis

Sorry, but great hopes for week-end, as well as next! Yes, I gave Joan I the horror [horoscope]—after preamble. Important, I think, to get her to cut the painter. Why? 'Cos if not it will drag on for ever. Considering he sold up every stick from her flat, and has never a sou left on Monday of his good Friday's screw—! I had three years of it myself. One patches and cobbles; but the material's rotten; as you mend here, it gives there. In the bend, it's always smash; so why drag on unhappiness? More, her father may stop her allowance if he sticks to him—I don't blame him. I write this, hoping that you will add your weight to get her to break it off short.

In frantic haste.

Ever

Aleister
