Dear Bright One!

93.

That game [of chess] impressed me lots. I could make a really fine player of you—up near Woman's Champion [illegible]—if you would give me a chance, which you won't

Nevertheless, I put in a rather disturbed night thinking things to say (Copy with rest if you think it worth while)

I want you to change your whole view of the [chess] board. Don't think of it as a conflict in the centre with outlying resources, but exactly the opposite; make the 'centre of interest' 'point of contact' (roughly, in the middle) as no more than a lot of trifles to be swept out of the way of the big forces.
