At last released from room! At last settled for you; never mind details. It’s only for a month; gives you time to turn round; lets us start without further delay.
I enclose £5.5.0, not knowing how much (if any) “petty cash” J.T. [Janet Taylor][1] will have to hand to you.
Fortnum & Mason owe me a bottle of whisky since Feb 1; please make them cough up!
Get Mr. Upchurch of Hedges & Butler Regent St (REG: 4444). He promised me whisky—4 bottles, I hope—for March 1. Please do your very damnedest to get him to produce them. “Royal Vat” is the kind I like best.
If you need more money, telegraph simply the amount required, and write confirming. Do keep some sort of a/c [accounting] this time!
Please let me know as soon as possible what day to expect you.
Can’t think of anything else at the moment.
