Correspondence from Aleister Crowley to Louis Umfreville Wilkinson
The Ridge Hastings.

Best Beloved Umfreville
Do What Thou Wilt is the Whole of the Law.
Did I answer yours of Feb 14? It's been lying about on my table, and I can't be sure.
Anyhow, here goes.
I enclose the Vernal Greeting [Word of the Equinox].
It may be a matter for congratulation, the pulling of the plug on the Atrabilious Bitch.
Your lively son's departure for that most hellish of Ireland's outfall, Glagie [Glasgow], has left me rather lonely. Luckily, young Grant [Kenneth Grant] has been here for the last 10 days, which is company, and also an immense relief to mind and body.
I get paper of any quality and in any quantity desired from Truslove and Hanson 15a Clifford St W.1. Even envelopes!
Yes, do come along directly Easter is over. The weather has been incredibly good.
Now I close.
Love is the law, love under will.
Yours ever,
Aleister
P.S. How lucky! I had written, addressed, stamped, sealed and given to Grey Eminence to post the letter herewith—and he didn't post it. So now I can put the new address and answer yours of the 21st. You will find my epitaph for Bosie. I wonder if Poetry Review would print it? They must have hated him, because he showed them up, and had (after all) the making of a poet. Glad the Swan's Udders are so docile and ductile. I'm 1/2 crazy sending out the Word [of the Equinox], grouping A.[leister] E.[xplains] E.[verything] [Magick without Tears] letters, etc; will write again with some rather amusing Magick when I'm less pressed.
Love,
Aleister
Epitaph
Pull hard the plug, lass! Earth, ease thine itch! Now, at long last, exterminated thy vilest vermin, Lord Alfred Douglas, The Atrabilious Bitch,
Aleister Crowley.
