Correspondence from Aleister Crowley to Grady McMurtry
The Ridge, Hastings
2/8/24
Dear Grady,
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
Thanks for yours of July 20th. Also for the Army draft, which was particularly welcome as I have a whole lot of things to clear up at the end of this month.
I think I have already acknowledged the receipt of The Yogi. Frieda [Frieda Harris] has said nothing about her Rabbelais.
The trouble with your poem is that it is an anti-climax; you begin with exalted symbols and drop down to a rather cruder conception.
Love is the law, love under will.
Yours ever,
but feeling rotten Aleister
