Dear Louis

How sweet of you and how wicked of me! But Equinoxes [the Word of the Equinox] will be Equinoxes. You will get the official in a day or two. Also, I hope your most flattering extracts—with comments and a grouse—returned. This is not all the truth: I am totally exhausted. The effort of getting up tires me so that I have to rest several hours before collecting the energy required to go to bed. People here are damned awkward; I can't get a masseur at all, a secretary only once a week, a barber once a month. My one stand-by is a Wren in Australia. I must get a valet-masseur of sorts, or I slip to Avernus! Expect to hear again this week.

Love

Aleister
