Dear Katie,

Dropping you a few lines to let you know that the trunk got here in good condition a few days after I returned. Hope you had no trouble with it after I left.

My separation papers came in yesterday so now I'm officially Mr. McMurtry. First thing I did was to go over to U.C. and get my application in for the GI Bill of Rights. They say it will be at least two months before it is acted on.

I found a few more civilian clothes since coming back. A pair of black shoes one place and two repeat two white shirts that will fit me.

Foxie [Marjorie Fox] sends her felicitations.

Philosophically,
