Care Frater,

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

Thank you very much for your letter enclosing Dr. Gardner's [Gerald Gardner], which I return, herewith as requested.

I suggest that you refer all your following in the London district to Dr. Gardner so that he may put them properly through the Minerval degree,* and some of them at least might help him to establish the camps for the higher degrees up to Perfect Initiate or Prince of Jerusalem.

Of course the rites of Memphis and Mizraim have all been absorbed by the O.T.O. It would not require the fortune of a kingdom, but a couple of hundred lifetimes devoted exclusively to them to put them on properly. I have read through them most carefully—I took the printed volume to the Sahara Desert with me as my sole reading matter—and they are simply not worth performing: they are just extensive drivel. The only comparison I can find are the sermons of Presbyterian Divines of the 17th century.

Love is the law, love under will.

Yours fraternally,

[eleven-fold cross] Baphomet O.T.O.

*A Camp, very good, will be ready in a few weeks.
