Dear Sir,

Re E.A. Crowley decd.

We are in receipt of your letter of the 15th instant and note that the two cheques drawn by us on the instructions of the Trustees in favour of the deceased gentleman have not been cashed. It appears to us that certain funeral expenses must be met and on production of the Probate the Bank will no doubt be prepared to accept your endorsement as Executor.

There is one point which we think it right to draw your attention to, that is, from Press reports Mr. Crowley was adjudicated bankrupt some 12 years ago, and a dividend amounting to a few pence in the £ was paid. Whilst in this office a few years past Mr. Crowley expressed the view that he would not go to the trouble or expense of applying for his discharge. No doubt in your own interests you will satisfy yourself that he has in fact obtained his discharge otherwise the Trustee may claim the assets with a view to payment of a further dividend.

In connection with the Post-War Credit Certificate, this falls to be sent to the Inspector of Taxes together with the Probate when he will re-mark the same.

Mr. Crowley's daughter [Lola Zaza Crowley] is anxious to know the whereabouts of the daughter of the foreign lady whom she believes her Father married. She believes that Mr. Crowley's second wife [Maria de Miramar] has died but has not certain information. Perhaps you could help us in this respect.

Yours faithfully,

L. Wilkinson Esq.
