Correspondence from Karl Germer to Louis Wilkinson
K.J. GERMER 260 West 72nd Street New York 23 N.Y. Endicott 2-6799
May 23, 1950.
Dear Mr. Wilkinson,
I am so sorry to hear of your accident! Why did you think you had to emulate me? In any case, my fracture was really minor, and I can walk now, though it tends to tire me. Still, I know what the nuisance of crutches means, so that I can send you my sympathy.
I hope, though, that you will be able to leave the hospital soon, and that you can throw the crutches away. 'Broken shinbone' sounds awful, I have never met anyone who had it, so can only wish you a speedy and complete recovery.
Sincerely yours,
Karl Germer
