Dear David
Thank you for £5 & your lovely letter. I feel quite cheerful now you have told me about angina not that I was unduly worried. I will take the pills. I don't feel quite so lonely as I did. We have not got your latest book in the Library yet. They take such a long time if one puts it to order.
Yes I liked that bust [by Jacob Epstein] very much. It was [illegible] been in the Leicester Galleries for a long time. What did your daughters think of it. I suppose you will be going for a holiday very soon.

* David Garnett (1892–1981) was an author and wrote eleven novels as well as his autobiography; he edited the letters of T.E. Lawrence and the novels of Thomas Love Peacock. He and Francis Birrell started a bookshop; he helped found the Nonesuch Press and the publishing firm of Rupert Hart-Davis.
