Correspondence from Phyllis Seckler to Grady McMurtry

[EXTRACT]

[11 January 1969]

[I] had to go see Sascha [Sascha Germer] at her request . . . so she could get some business done as she could not drive the car that Karl [Karl Germer] left. We went to the funeral parlor and there refused their offer of a burial place for Karl's ashes, as Sascha had no money to afford such a thing. When we left it was I who must carry Karl's ashes, as Sascha could not bring herself to touch them. I placed them in the car and we drove back to the house. From there I carried them upstairs and placed them beside the Stélé of Revealing that Karl kept in a niche.
