Correspondence from Phyllis Seckler to Grady McMurtry

[EXTRACT]

[15 February 1969]

You could come out here and stay at my house and decide what you want to do about your career.

The above proposition is pretty bold for a woman—but let's forget sex and put it on a friendship basis. We are old enough to be eccentric if we wish. I have compared our two [astrological] charts, and though there is a difficulty here and there, for the most part the charts show that we can adapt to close quarters and pull together for a mutual purpose. . . . There, I have known for over a month that I must put the proposition to you.

Seems to me that if we could start a college with you at the head, it would be ideal.
