Very many happy returns of the day. Well, you can look back on a very full year very well spent. I always thought that what you needed was direction and discipline: attachment to Reality through ordered forms. You seemed to be groping after Truth and Beauty, feeling your way through paint; now you are masterfully expressing ideas making your ? . You know what to do now, and when you next sit down to a big picture, you will have Being flowering into Form instead of trying to reach Being through experiments with Form.
So with great love and the strong wish that next year you may excel this which is past, I bless you.
