Correspondence from Aleister Crowley to Gerald Yorke

2 July

I wish you would understand that your conduct has compelled me to ignore all communications except from students in good standing. I ignore all letters unless from those who are paying £5 a month to the income account of the E.A. Crowley Trust Fund care of Dennes.

Re mundane matters. I gather that the Bankruptcy Proceedings begin this week. I am sorry not to be able to shield you, but as your cowardice and treachery are the sole factors in the calamity, you can hardly expect me to perjure myself. I have been hoping that China will make a man of you; if you see any signs of it, come back to London and face the music.
