Frank Bennett Diary Entry Saturday, 3 September 1921
Rose at 6 am., after a very fine night's sleep. Pentagram 6 am. Breakfast at 7. Afterwards reading history with Mary [Mary Butts] and Maitland [Cecil Maitland] until 9.30. Arrived at tent at 10. Read The Book of the Law until 11. 11 to 12—Tried to realize the subconscious self—very badly. 12 to 1—Pranayama and Massage. 1 o'clock dinner. Afternoon spent in reading a novel [Ashe of Rings] by Mary Butts.
