Aleister Crowley Diary Entry Wednesday, 12 August 1903
On Aug 6 (about)—my work had been interrupted by the arrival of Gerald Kelley the painter—I decided to go over to Strathpeffer and marry his sister Rose [Rose Kelley].
This I did on Aug 12, having been engaged 19 hours. Our acquaintance had begun in the Ideal Way, i.e. with more than "a little aversion" shewn—A.C. kicked and so did R.E.S. Eros now took matters in hand pretty thoroughly and Hermes had a different office to that of Hierophant.
