Aleister Crowley Diary Entry Wednesday, 30 October 1907
1.30 A.M. About 11 (I suppose) I began the 7 fold Word and finished the same.
Now, was this Hashish, or the
Incense—of
a.c. had been meditating a book on bhakti for some time.
1.00 P.M. Now there wasn't a
shadow of any
Evening. I actually see a reason for a temple again! Expecting an august visitor, one gets everything ready.
Wrote I & II Liber Cordis Cincti Serpente. Again, no shadow of samadhi; only a feeling that V.V.V.V.V. was in His samadhi, and writing by my pen; i.e., the pen of the scribe, and that scribe not οὔ μη, who reasons, etc., nor a.c., who is a poet and selects, but of some perfectly passive person.
