Aleister Crowley Diary Entry Rex de Arte Regia Tuesday, 19 January 1915
Opus[1] XXVI
12.3 a.m. Weather moist but warm as June. I am writing with window wide open in a dressing-gown of silk—and nothing else—and I'm too hot. Temple pitch dark.
The Lord being invoked by 'The Ship' adoration manibus sacramentum consumatum est.[2]
Object: Money.
The ceremony was spontaneous, vigorous and most orgiastic. The Elixir was very copious and good. I offered a portion to the tablet of Hermes.
Result: 21 Jan. Money still flows in. This time $1.25; 24 Jan. $8; 25 Jan. $62.50. 2 Feb. $25 for climbing article.
1—[Crowley performs a magical sexual operation.] 2—['The sacrament was consummated with the hands', to the accompaniment of 'The Ship', an invocatory poem by Crowley.]
