Aleister Crowley Diary Entry

'Beauty's' [Ninette Shumway] Birthday. She tried to give an imitation of a soft corn, but has not brains enough even for that. She merely made herself ridiculous instead of objectionable; very welcome as 'twas a dull day. However, I went to bed early, getting rid of both girls by the admirably subtle stratagem of snubbing Ninette and telling Leah [Leah Hirsig] to get out. Then I started to write poetry; 'The Rock' and 'Wanted!'
