A very bad night——I feel rotten.
My "practical" inspiration came suddenly when the Baron la Calce and the director of the Casa di Risparmio called.
The bank might lend 50,000 lire at 7% to build a house on mortgage of house and land, provided we had the land already bought to the value of 10,000. I proposed to pay off the debt in 5 years: 13,500; 12,800; 12,100; 11,400; and 10,800.
General symbol for this scheme. [I Ching Hexagram] P[hallus] of Water. X. Li. Excellent, with courage, will, and prudence.
Symbol for architectural design: [I Ching Hexagram] Fire of Earth ! ! LXII. Hsiao Kwo. The Bird. Id est. the Holy Ghost.
N.B. YOGA cells building to look like a dove's head, tiled red and white, with round windows.
Temple. Diameter 31.41593 ft. 8 pillars, diameter 11 in. height 41.8 or 44 feet, cylindrical. Spiral on NNE pillar to trap door. Glass dome on roof: divan: telescope. Doors to Dormitory, Studio, and Yoga cells.
Library. Billiard-table and shelves. Doors to Studio and Wine-room. Windows in NNW and NSW. Wine-room and sort of cupboard.
Kitchen and other offices. Arranged as convenient. Path to storehouse walled off and covered.
Dormitory 3 tiers of 7 cells each. opening on corridor. All walls windowed right along 8-11 feet from ground.
Baths, Gymnasium, W.C., Typing room. Hot, cold baths, plunge, douches, slabs, hot and steam rooms.
Studio. Height 11 ft vertical, dome of glass rising to 17 ft. Doors 11 ft wide, 8 high, to Terrace.
Gallery. 8 feet above floor, staircase in N corner. Under Gallery dais and door to Temple.
Refectory. Like Studio. Gallery: with wardrobes and pulpit. Organ: window to temple.
Thelema Court: the Dove's Tail outside wall: no windows here. Side walls 11 ft high, tiled white and scarlet.
Terraces, Gardens. Arranged as convenient.
Conservatory, Sun-Parlour, etc.
Storehouses as convenient: fowl houses, etc as required.
Path and Bridge across stream.
Bathing Cistern filled from and emptied into stream.
NNW Terrace, with stone altar etc: for open-air orgies.
Yoga Cells: 22 or 31 inches square, 31 or 44 inches high. Double walls, doors; padding.
Roofs white and scarlet tiles for plumage.
7.18 P.M. I have done the above plan; will go to bed as it is very cold tonight. Don't quite know what to do—being snowy. Will ask Yi. [I Ching Hexagram] Luna of Earth. 39. Means apparently "Meditate on practical matters".
