Aleister Crowley Diary Entry Tuesday, 27 December 1921
A night of extraordinary Sadistic dreams. Again and again I woke up savagely biting Lea's [Leah Hirsig] foot—or her finger while she burnt my nose with her lighted cigarette!—or—etc.
Painted the vision I had before sleeping last night—blonde girl, naked, leaning over into a blue pool to pick a lotus. Behind her a dark brown woman in a scarlet shawl. Flowers in foreground, trees in background. The idea was the juxtaposition of violent colours, especially the gold hair and the blue water.
Later. "Today's Thought". I have given up my life to find the Truth; and, finding ir, found that I was myself That Truth.
