1.20 A.M. Woke after rather poor sleep, sweating. Rub. 11 [drops] Laud[anum] to avoid [Heroin].

     

Woke 8.40 after some trouble in early part of night. Various disturbances: cough, etc. [Heroin] (1) about 9 Coffee.

     

3.30 I have been working and sleeping since 9: I can hardly say which. But a very strange phenomenon has taken place. I have a positive aversion to [Heroin] and no craving for it, though I seem to need it if I am to enjoy a scrap of muscular strength. (2). (3.0. [Heroin].) My appetite for food seems completely suspended.

     

8.0. Dictated "Hag" [The Confessions of Aleister Crowley] since 5.0. [Heroin] (3) about 6 a good deal of [Cocaine].

     

8.12 [Heroin] (4) to settle down.

     

9.50 11 [drops] Laud[anum].

     

10.30 Obliged to take (5) after all, (5), being upset by too much [Cocaine].

     

11.40 11 [drops] Laud[anum].
