Earache better—slept well: woke fairly fresh but tired after another "night out" till after 1 A.M. with Ferris, who now agrees to try Cefalu.
10.45 P.M. Before dinner I took 3

11.15 And yet there is a strong impulse to go on with it! Hell! NO.

[Cocaine], dined with less alcohol than usual, and walked a
mile or so. I have now got the full and quite admirable
effect—much better than I should have from 20 goes in the
ordinary way.
