Aleister Crowley Diary Entry Wednesday, 25 June 1924
[The following is in the handwriting of Leah Hirsig:]
Wednesday June 25 after lunch. No one should have the vote unless he can be trusted not to exercise it. Aged voters in Gloucestershire—Asked to vote, replied, "It will be all the same in a 100 years". We used to think them very stupid whereas they were really profound philosophers and the government of the country should have been entrusted to them.
[The following is in the handwriting of Crowley:]
"Krazy Kat". One cannot be sure of the best principles of play at present—after 2 days' frequent trials. More: one cannot be sure exactly what are the limits of a complex move—whether (say) a dozen changes will or will not make any effective difference. One goes on shifting the cards: sometimes something comes out suddenly, sometimes it seems a vicious circle. This gives the game a peculiar flavour of subtle insanity.
