Aleister Crowley Diary Entry Tuesday, 18 November 1924
Nov. 18.
My 26th Birthday.[1]
Message: Expect him not from the East nor from the West; for from no expected house cometh that child. Was purified with water not only in my bath but by hard rain when I went out in the morning: and consecrated by fire in the evening not only by having a fire in our room, but by putting the wrong end of my cigar in my mouth. As it is written: I will lay a live coal in thy lips.
1—Today is Crowley's 26th "magical" birthday—The anniversary of his initiation into the Golden Dawn on 18 November 1898.
