Anu [Hanni Jaeger] annoyed because I wanted her to explain what the gas-man wanted. Sulked all day, and started hunger-strike. Attacked me violently and even obscenely (6.40 P.M.) when I tried for the nth time to get her round by kindness. She went out.
8.45 P.M. [Günther] Stein rings up. A[nu] is to go with his wife to doctor—thank the Gods!
Q[uer]y. How does one “purge one’s contempt of court?” By going out and shitting and thinking of the Judge?
