Free of Maenz, I was set upon by a gang of ruffians in the Kurfurstendamm. I fought like a demon, but was overwhelmed by numbers. Bill [Bertha Busch] got off scot free.

     

All day in bed p.1. sore. Yorke [Gerald Yorke] rings up—snags about cash. Idiot—he knew all along, and should have acted accordingly.
