Aleister Crowley Diary Entry

Monday, 27 June 1932

Phoned Cape [Jonathan Cape publishing firm]—the perfect dud—a real wash out.

Saw Deborah Hogg, more “ugly, repulsive and spiteful” than ever—said Yorke [Gerald Yorke]. She was charming.

Saw Rupert Grayson—re. Book on Berlin and Confessions [The Confessions of Aleister Crowley].

Note. When an Englishwoman tries to make herself look attractive, she only succeeds in appearing depraved!
