Aleister Crowley Diary Entry Sunday, 30 April 1939
[I Ching hexagram] 30.
Tournedo Gabriel. Grill veal; set on rounds of fried bread; on top, poached egg & crossed anchovies; around, mushrooms chopped & tossed in butter with cayenne & birds' eye chilli. (NO eggs: so we used a mustard & cream sauce.)
Lunch Ruby [Melville] & Bill Evans. Iced curry & Ch[ili]. con c[arne]. Very good indeed.
