[I Ching hexagram] 12.
Everything all day shewed “want of understanding between men.”
Mallock didn’t keep his appointment.
Electric Co. threat to cut off came after the day of execution.
Couldn’t get a decent game of chess (v. assorted amateurs; n-0).
And various other small matters just didn’t fit in.
Fitzgerald [Edward Noel Fitzgerald] very ill—abdominally—under observation. Can’t get eggs, & can eat nothing else.
Got busy.
