Aleister Crowley Diary Entry

Friday, 4 April 1941

[I Ching hexagram] 14.

Chess v.[ersus] Super-amateur 2-0, v. ditto at odds of Q 2-0, v. Capt. Plant 2-0.

Returned to find X. [Grace M. Horton] very tired indeed.

She bore up bravely, but had to go to bed before dinner. I do not like her cough.

She made lots of alarms & excursions 10-12: I stayed awake in case she needed help. Now (12.15 A.M. Saturday) I put out the light. Mrs. Balsdon—balls done.
